Course Overview

This course aims to provide a good understanding of general safety practices, component specifications, design rules and even the process for installing a standalone solar PV system (SAPV). This course will determine the competencies required to design and develop the essential elements that support safety compliance self -contained solar PV systems.

Course Objective

  • At the end of the course student will be able to obtain entry level employment as a Technician, Assistant Electrician, or a Solar Systems Apprentice.
  • demonstrate safe work practices in the field of Solar System Installation & Maintenance
  • Understand and meet the standards set by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority, Malaysia (SEDA).
  • Perform solar system installation & inspection
  • Able to apply knowledge and skills in the field of entrepreneurship
  • Eager to be competitive in the business world

Learning Outcome

  • Demonstrate the safety requirements of SAPV and the basic electrical requirements in a stand -alone solar system.
  • Indicate the basic components / tools required and building / site considerations in the installation of a stand -alone solar system.
  • Apply practical installation and measurement skills to meet safety and energy efficiency requirements in developing stand -alone solar systems.
  • Build a stand -alone PV system using the training tools / facilities provided.
